Jan 24, 2005· Tungsten isn't all that hard so you can grind it on most any wheel. Diamond definitely s best but I get good everyday results from a plain vanilla aluminum oxide wheel in a bench grinder although I may later have to dress the groove out of it if I get careless.

These pores are hollow spaces between abrasive grains and the bond,which help with the clearance of discarded metal chips in the grinding process.
The one I like has water with the grinding wheel to keep everything cool, AND to collect the grinding dust. However, they cost an INSANE amount, like more than some TIG welders. Speaking of tungsten dust, I always wear a respirator or mask, especially if grinding Thoriated.
